The camp our association supports — established 1926 in Shawnee State Forest near Portsmouth, Ohio.
Camp Oyo features historic log cabins, tent sites, a dining hall, lake and boating programs, swimming facilities, and forest trails. Many structures were built with Civilian Conservation Corps assistance during the 1930s.
The name "Oyo" comes from a Native American word associated with the Ohio River region. Since 1926, the camp has served Scouts and youth groups from Ohio, Kentucky, and surrounding communities.
Camp Oyo Staff Association Inc. was formed by former camp staff and supporters to help maintain the camp's historic buildings and support alumni activities.
